Did you know that an electric eel, during a discharge, generates enough energy to start 50 cars?
An Electric Eel (Electrophorus electricus) is a fish that resembles an eel and is primarily found in the freshwater environments of the Amazon rainforest and other tropical regions in South America. The Electric Eel has specialized organs that produce electric shocks for self-defense and hunting. They typically do this at night and from a hiding place where they can conceal themselves during the day.
The Electric Eel can deliver an electric shock of up to between 400 and 500 volts, with the current reaching up to 1 ampere. This amount of energy is sufficient to start 40 to 50 cars. Of course, it is quite challenging to actually use the Electric eEl’s energy to start cars.
