The tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai

Did you know that the tallest building on Earth is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai?

The Burj Khalifa opened at the beginning of 2010, after 6 years of construction, and stands 828 meters tall—almost twice as high as the Empire State Building in New York. Thousands of people contributed to its construction, and over 26,000 glass panels were used on the exterior, specially designed to withstand the heat in Dubai. The building is also sustainably constructed, incorporating water-saving and energy-efficient concepts.

The building houses 37 office floors, 900 residences, a hotel with 160 rooms, and there is an 11-hectare park adjacent to the tower. On the 124th and 148th floors, there are observation decks offering stunning views of Dubai. Due to its prominence and striking appearance, the tower attracts significant tourist interest. The Burj Khalifa is likely to hold the title of tallest building for years to come. However, construction began in 2011 on the Jeddah Tower, which is set to surpass the magical 1000-meter mark. This tower will be built in Saudi Arabia, north of the city of Jeddah.
