Did you know that the highest mountain on Earth is Mount Everest in the Himalayas?
Mount Everest stands at a height of 8,850 meters and is located on the border between China and Nepal. It is part of the Himalayas, which lie at the collision zone of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. Due to the ongoing collision of these plates, which began about 2 million years ago, the Himalayas continue to grow. This mountain range is home to 9 of the 10 highest mountains in the world, all with peaks over 8,000 meters, including well-known giants such as K2, Kangchenjunga, and Lhotse. These immense mountains are not only an impressive natural spectacle but also hold great cultural and spiritual significance for the local population.
Mount Everest’s height makes it a major attraction for climbers.
