This temperature was measured on July 21, 1983, at a Russian weather station called Vostok in Antarctica. The lowest temperature ever recorded in the Netherlands is -27.4 degrees Celsius. This temperature was reached in 1942 in Winterswijk. If we include the atmosphere, the lowest recorded temperature is -143 degrees Celsius, measured in 1963.
